Alex O'Rion started in 1997 with deep progressive experiments. He was inspired by DJ's like "Sasha", "Nick Warren" and "Deep Dish". The sound that can be found especially in the Global Underground series.
End of 1999 he resided with the "Injustice System". In those days this organization arranged hard technoparties under the name of "Code Red". Having performed once, Alex was allowed to return every following time. At this moment the organization is responsible for a new concept of technoparties called: "Sphinx Techno". Alex O'Rion is still a resident together with DJ's and organizers Da Ratio & Joseph More.
Especially thanks to Injustice System Alex O'Rion was able to get a lot of experience during his starting period in a relatively short time. www.daratio.com
Towards the end of 2000 Alex O'Rion's sound proved mature enough to start the production of his own tracks. One of the results of this try-out is a progressive track, named "Substance". The sale of white labels went well.
In the meantime a vinyl track was produced in the Netherlands as well as in England.
Alex also played at 'The Q' in the city of Zwolle, where he perfomed on a monthly basis as a guest dj. Unfortunately Zwolle hadn't offered 'The Q' what they were hoping for, so recently they closed their doors. Information: www.the-q.nl.
Balearic is the name behind duo Alex O'Rion and Jozeph More. On festivals and larger events they can be found together + one guest dj behind 6 decks. Check these photo's taken at Per Expressie 2003 festival to get an impression. photo1 photo2 photo3
